Cancer Awareness Toolkit
All of the evidence tells us that if we increase efforts to improve earlier presentation and diagnosis of cancer, it will save thousands of lives every year.
Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Network recognise that a key part of this work is harnessing the potential of front line staff. Such staff have considerable contact with clients and patients and can exert positive influence on behaviours. Staff also have contact with each other, family and friends as well as being important target audiences in their own right. The role of all front line staff in supporting behaviour change is important. We have developed this resource to help staff raise awareness of cancer symptoms and develop their confidence in supporting clients and patients. This is important because staff, just like the wider public, might at first find this a daunting task.
This toolkit contains tailored materials for:
- Reception staff at GP surgeries &
- Health Clinics
- Social Care staff
- Pharmacy staff
- Health Trainers
- Managers
The cancer awareness toolkit continues to be developed to inform on a wider range of cancers and to support a more extensive range of front line staff.
